Therapy sessions demand a secure, confidential, and safe setting. Our telehealth platform provides this environment for our work together. Many clients find additional comfort in connecting from their personal space. To ensure the best experience, we recommend:

1. Reducing potential interruptions before the session starts
2. Ensuring you have a quiet and private space for sessions
3. Muting your mobile devices
4. Having water and writing materials ready

This preparation allows us to focus fully on our therapeutic work in a virtual yet professional setting.

To best support your needs, lifestyle demands, and preferences, we offer both virtual and in-person services. Virtual therapy sessions are available across Ontario. In-person sessions are available at offices located in Newmarket, Ontario at the York Wellness Collective. You may alternate between virtual and in-person sessions, depending on what arrangements best suit your needs.

We are a registered Blue Cross Medavie provider, and our services are often covered by other insurance plans such as SunLife, Manulife, and others. Please check with your insurance prior to beginning sessions, to determine if social work/psychotherapy services are included in your plan coverage.

Please note that Lightwood Therapy Centre does not offer direct billing at this time. At the end of each session, you can make your payment via e-transfer, and an invoice will be provided to you. You may submit your invoice to your insurance for reimbursement, as per your plan coverage. Please check with your insurance prior to beginning sessions to confirm that social worker/psychotherapy services are covered by your plan.

At this time we only accept e-transfers.
